Top 5 Films You Need To Re-Visit
« on: October 01, 2009, 06:39:30 AM »
So everyone has them-- films that you have seen, and don't remember either loving or hating, but other people rave about them.  For me, these films I saw years ago before I started to really get into films, and didn't really wow me like they have just about everyone else.  Time to watch them again.

5. The Usual Suspects
4. Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind
3. Lost in Translation
2. Casablanca
1. Citizen Cane

I have seen these movies and remember liking them but I need to see them again. They are in no particular order.

Shindler's List
The Wrestler
Trainspotting
The Life Aquatic...
Goodfellas

2001: Have watched it twice.  First time only made it about half an hour in.  Second time was very underwhelmed.  Not sure if this one has much of a chance at changing my mind, but at least it will be pretty.

Breathless: Saw this in college and felt pretty blase about it.  Godard is now one of my favorite directors.

Ugetsu: Right movie at the wrong time scenario.  Just wasn't awake enough for this one the first time around.  Can't wait to see the whole thing.

Simple Men
: I unleashed a profanity-filled tirade the likes of which the Filmspotting world had never seen before or has seen since after viewing this.  Then I watched Trust, which is one of my all-time favorite films.  Guess this one deserves another shot.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

Don't try again. It is tripe. Your Breathless suggestion is a good one though.
