5) I have horribly vivid, violent, disturbing dreams.  It has been this way for probably the past 7 years, it severely affects my sleep because I wake up completely unrested.  I am to the point where I am considering seeing a sleep specialist.

My BF has the same thing. He says it helps him to try to fight whatever it is in his dreams. Try to face whatever it is head on. Since he started doing that, he has had fewer bad dreams and when he does have them they are shorter because he goes right after whatever it is that is trying to scare him.

One thing is when he and I go to see horror movies he always says that's nothing you should see the sh*t in his dreams.

3. My wife left me for another woman.

It's been a year since my "divorce" (the ending of a ten year relationship). I also had a leave of absence from the boards that I'm just coming back from. To better days and more Filmspotting time. Will you still be connected when you are out of country?

5)  My wife and I started dating when she was 14 and I was 16.  That was 23 years ago.

Aww... Chester and I are jealous. :)

Have you ever looked into Lucid dreaming? I was never very successful at it, and it takes a lot of practice, but it is supposedly very successful at combating nightmares.

I have read some stuff about it, but I haven't tried to employ any of the practices.

Yes.  it is very sad to hear the stories of when it doesn't work out.  We're counting ourselves blessed that things have worked out for us thus far.  It's total serendipity.  I can assure you at 16 I wasn't worried about our policitical and ethical compatibility or whatever the heck it is that has made the partnership fairly easy through the years.

1- I spent most of my childhood and teenage time at my grandmother's place when not at school or with friends.

2- I spent a couple months in the countryside of a Latin American country for a school program, living with locals and learning Spanish. Since then I have practically lost all my Spanish.

3- I learned to ice skate very late (compared to other Québec children). I played baseball as a youngster instead.

4- I lived almost a year in St. Louis Missouri when I was a child.

5- All my life I've been the odd man looking in when it comes to the question of Québec. I come off as the enemy when I talk about the matter with both my francophone and anglophone friends.

For those who are asking, I am doing really good right now. It has been a really hard year, but I'm in a much better place right now. Life changes a lot when the person you have been with since you were 15 leaves you when you are 30. Half my life has been with her. Thanks for asking guys!
What? What are you talking about? It's girls and spaghetti. We love girls and spaghetti.

I can only imagine how difficult that must be.  Glad to hear you things are a better now

You're French-Canadian. The French-Canadians are always the enemy. But I won't hold it against you.
