High and Low is number one, and I still haven't seen Seven Samurai.
I actually consider a lot of movies to be life-changing! I take them to my heart and they melt into my personality.

3. They Who Step on Tiger's Tail

One of my favorites, but I haven't seen it since my initial Kurosawa videotape rampage in the mid-90s.

I see that you rate it higher than Stray Dog and Drunken Angel (I really like both).  I'll move it up to second then!

I can never remember if I've seen Drunken Angel or not.  But I do like Stray Dog a lot as well.

It makes me sad that so many of you haven't seen Bad Sleep Well and Stray Dog.

For my part, I'm delinquent on most of the "less aclaimed" samurai films.

Drunken Angel (I bought it but haven't watched it yet)
Red Beard
Kagemusha
Dersu Uzala
The Lower Depths

Also, I know Sanshiro Sugata 2 is included in the new box-set but it's regarded as one of Kurosawa's worst films. Even Kurosawa himself has stated he had no interest in making it and felt it was "warmed-over."
