I feel pretty stupid for having still not seen Ikiru.

It's no Rashomon.
Tis true.
Ignore them edgar, they're both nuts.

Time will tell. I like Rashomon a lot. I own the 1 disc Essential Art House DVD of the film and have watched it several times now. Ikiru also has an Essential Art House release. I'll most likely pick that up soon.
Don't get me wrong, Ikiru is my #2 Kurosawa, but it's still no Rashomon.

Agreed.  Only because they're totally different films.

Not a huge fan of the ending, but come on, it's still better than Dersu Uzala and The Hidden Fortress.

I'll agree on The Hidden Fortress. I haven't seen the other one.

I've heard The Hidden Fortress is okay, but it's no Star Wars.

roujin, faceboy, you guys know I have nothing but respect for you, but Rashomon is way better than Ikiru. Of the Kurosawa I have watched I'd go in this order:

1. Rashomon
2. High and Low
3. Ikiru
4. Throne of Blood

High and Low is the one I haven't seen although I'm pretty sure I'd love it.
