The other way to search the Filmspotting Forums

I think everyone is well aware the Simple Machines search algorithms fail miserably for some reason, and thus even simple film title searches on these forums produce few decent results.

But don't forget you can always use Google:

For instance:

You put whatever your search criteria is.  In this case "Jesse James"  and follow it up with "site: filmspotting.net/boards"

(by the way, it's pretty simple bit of HTML to change the search functionality on this site to use Google!)

This is what I do also Ferris except even better is:

"Jesse James"

Using quotes limits the search to that exact word string instead of searching Jesse and James separately.

yeah, the site specific search function of Google is gold! It is the ONLY way to search these forums and get useful results. Maybe we could put a google site search function at the bottom of the main page - it is easy to set up.....

There should be a required course on using Google before people are allowed onto the internet. 8)

Agreed, put in a little effort and the built in search can find what you are looking for.
