TOP 5 MOVIE BAD ASSES
« on: November 13, 2009, 10:53:01 PM »
Did not look too hard but couldn't find this thread. Top 5 Movie Bad Asses. these are the guys (or girls all though non came to my mind right away I am sure I am forgetting someone) that you would not want to go up against but would love on your side of a bar fight.

Top 5 was tough but here goes for me

1-Dirty Harry - Dirty Harry
2-Paul Kersey - Deathwish
3-Snake Plissken - Escape From NY
4-Maximus - Gladiator
5-John Lee - the Replacement Killers

honorable mentions - Hannibal Lecter, John McClane, Rooster Cogburn, John Rambo, hit me with some others I have not thought of.

Why is John McClane only an honourable mention?

I'd have to add The Terminator, Jules Winnfield, Tony Montana, Ellen Ripley, Indiana Jones, and James Bond.

5. Michael Caine - Get Carter
4. Most Humphrey Bogart
1-3.  The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

Actually I always mention that For A Few Dollars More has more Bad Asses per frame than any other film.  The heroes are bad ass.  The villains are all bad ass. The sidekicks.  The bit parts.

Why is John McClane only an honourable mention?

i went with a battle royale mentality. what 5 would be left standing. in my opinion that is my top 5. all though writing it down like that lecter sure seems like he would get in the top 5.

Sanjuro Kuwabatake (Yojimbo)
Ripley (Aliens)
John McClane (Die Hard)
Bruce Lee (Enter the Dragon)
Anton Chigur (No Country for Old Men)

Honorable Mention: Chopper Read (Chopper), Obi-Wan Kenobi (Star Wars), Hawkeye and Chingachgook (Last of the Mohicans), Dutch (Predator)

Limited my list to characters that hadn't been mentioned yet (although Ripley and McClane had to make my list).
