They can be, though I am, yes, very skeptical of 'feel good' programing, especially in the television format where it's easy to fall back on convention rather than pushing for more complex directions. I would say that Gravity Falls is largely a 'feel good' show that ends conventionally more often than not, but it doesn't exist solely to be a comfort food, which is the impression I've gotten from talk around the later seasons of Schitt's Creek and, to an extent, Ted Lasso. Didn't like what I watched of SC, so I can't speak to that, trying to determine if it's worth going through Lasso or if it's more likely to be something that would irritate me.
