I'm starting to question the point of adapting British shows to American audiences. The Office I get....it was short lived in Britain, and the characters display a very different (ie. less edgy) dynamic. But shameless and Skins are still going somewhat strong as British shows. Surely there could be more of a backing by channels in the US instead of adapting them? I mean, should we start adapting your shows? Imagine friends in Birminghamshire, or Mad Men in Cork.
[/rant about media I don't know very much about]
I haven't watched either of the versions of Shameless, but I started both skins around the same time. The US one, in many ways, is going through the same problems that The Office had in season 1, but as of late it has started to find its own voice and is handling different experiences in different ways. I guess it would be better to see the channels do something new, but some new faces are getting work and it's not another reality series so I can't blame MTV for adapting it.
Archer is fantastic!!!
Never not true. Glad others are loving the show.
