I'm starting to question the point of adapting British shows to American audiences. The Office I get....it was short lived in Britain, and the characters display a very different (ie. less edgy) dynamic. But shameless and Skins are still going somewhat strong as British shows. Surely there could be more of a backing by channels in the US  instead of adapting them? I mean, should we start adapting your shows? Imagine friends in Birminghamshire, or Mad Men in Cork.

[/rant about media I don't know very much about]

I haven't watched either of the versions of Shameless, but I started both skins around the same time. The US one, in many ways, is going through the same problems that The Office had in season 1, but as of late it has started to find its own voice and is handling different experiences in different ways. I guess it would be better to see the channels do something new, but some new faces are getting work and it's not another reality series so I can't blame MTV for adapting it.

Archer is fantastic!!!

Never not true. Glad others are loving the show.

It was announced today that Syfy's new show Alphas is set to premiere in July starring David Strathairn with Jack Bender (Lost) directing the pilot.

I find it hard to go wrong with at the very least watching Strathairn on a weekly basis.

Oh yeah. You definitely gotta. I actually thought the two episodes flowed into each other extremely well. Makes me think the show would best be watched on Blu-ray, though I suppose most shows are best watched that way these days.

The timer has started. One year, some change, and counting down. Good bye, 30 Rock.

Or not.

Still, it's not like 30 ROCK has been pulling in the numbers, and if Baldwin departs that will leave some sort of hole. NBC's Thursday night line up is floundering, the show's going in to its seventh season, and would anyone really be surprised if it shut down shop? I suppose it still wins writing awards, but awards alone aren't going to make up for rating, right?
