My marathon idea: The Indie-Rock Movie Marathon....
« on: December 12, 2009, 08:31:14 AM »
*first post*

Okay, so people who love film (and I mean LOVE film, in the way that people in this forum do) also generally tend to love music. It's obvious in the music choices in "FIlmspotting", it's super-obvious if you head to the Sound Opinions Message board (where music fans also geek out about movies as well). There have been great movies made about music. Here are the 5 I think should make the official "Filmspotting Indie-Rock Movie Marathon":

1. The Devil & Daniel Johnston
the devil and daniel johnston

2. I Am Trying To Break Your Heart (a film about Wilco)
I Am Trying to Break Your Heart: A Film About Wilco

3. Dig!
Dig! (trailer)

4. Gigantic: A Tale Of Two Johns
Gigantic: A Tale of Two Johns (Trailer)

5. loudQUIETloud: a Film about The Pixies
loudQUIETloud: a Film about the Pixies

C'mon guys... let's bring the rock fully into Filmspotting.

welcome, and nice picks!  though i haven't seen 24 Hour Party People, it seems like a contender.  i also missed The Posters Came From the Walls at True/False last year, it got good buzz there
But I wish the public could, in the midst of its pleasures, see how blatantly it is being spoon-fed, and ask for slightly better dreams.
