Gotta agree with "Falling Slowly" from "Once" - really moving.

Troll 2 - Dance moves

I don't think anyone can find a better musical/dance sequence in a non-musical film. This one is the best there is.

Unfortunately, I have no idea how to embed.

The evil dance of the axe gang

Silly scene from a silly movie. The dance style really fits the "character" of the gang, I find. I love it.

But the best ever?

The Adventures Of Buckaroo Banzai Across The Eighth Dimension(1984)

(Starts about 30 seconds in.) Mr. Goldblum, you're trying to seduce me.

I just can't decide between the finale duels of Good Bad Ugly, For a Few Dollars More, and Once Upon a Time in the West.  All three feature killer songs and all three are weapon grade awesomeness.  But of the more recent things it HAS to be this.

Awesomeness starts at 35s mark.

I never saw this topic before. Gonna try to list ones that haven't been mentioned yet ("La Marseillaise" from Casablanca would definitely be a top choice for me, for instance). Also going to be very restrictive about my definition of "non-musical" (i.e., I'm counting stuff like Once and Linda Linda Linda as "musicals", as well as Tsai's stuff like The Hole and The Wayward Cloud)

The Vertical Ray of the Sun - Singing "Cuối cùng cho một tình yêu" .... I have no idea what this song is about, but this is such a gorgeous moment in a gorgeous film

The Long Day Closes - "Tammy" .... Brilliant marriage of music and image to create fluid, melancholy nostalgia.

Band of Outsiders - The Madison .... Iconic for a reason. For my money, the best thing Godard ever did.

Eraserhead - "In Heaven" .... Short but sweet. And creepy.

Charulata - "Fule Fule Dhole Dhole" and "Ami Chini Go Chini" ... I can't choose! Both so good!

Time of the Gypsies - "Ederlezi" NSFW (boobs) ... My favorite piece of film music

Jules et Jim - "Le Tourbillon" .... Couldn't find a subtitled version that wasn't squished like this. I adore this song, and love how it fits into the story.

The Night of the Hunter - "Leaning" .... Chills!!

Malcolm X - Lindy Hop .... Unexpected and delightful

Fanny and Alexander - "Nu är det Jul igen" .... Only a minute, but it fills me with joy.

More than five, isn't it? Oh well.

Love this. Are you thinking of one specific occurrence or the recurring motif ?

Also, I just remembered the ending of Phoenix which is a perfect scene/musical moment.
