I disagree with your comparison, if not your taxonomy. In 12 Angry Men every character has an arc. Their certainties are challenged and waver. They range from adamant condemners to persuadable jurors. In the course of the movie, they each get to display their personal discomforts with the case, their prejudices and their reasons. Some have emotional epiphanies or moments of clarity. Harakiri's equivalent of the jurors never doubt themselves, never show dissent or nuance. They all stand for the same thing and refuse to admit any wrong to the bitter end. In many ways, this is the mirror opposite of 12 Angry Men.
