Nothing in particular, just a matter of getting hold of the movies and watching them. Knowing the way I am they are likely to stay that way for a while. That said I have found a video store recently, which has The Godfather (I-III). Annie Hall is a very long way down my lists of priority as it is a Woody Allan film. I really should try and watch the top 3 before the end of this year.

I think I'd love how awkward it'd be, or how awkward it should be.

So you're saying that if I see one of them, I can check all four?

Ha, yes. I literally had written that out exactly, then edited it out for brevity.

Flash Gordon (5) - 3/10

Month Notes: Chipping away at the Empire list and deep diving on some of the directors. Since I saw 'Get Carter' last month, I caught up with Mike Hodges' other notable work 'Flash Gordon'. Interesting career path Mike had...

I enjoy branching a bit from what is just on the Empire list. I'm glad I do, since I really didn't enjoy 'Tree of Wooden Clogs', but really enjoyed Ermanno Olmi's 'Il Posto'. I try to watch them in chronological order, so I saw how Olmi progressed in his style and I could appreciate the type of film he was making in 'Clogs'.. I still didn't really like the movie though.

The end of this month I caught up with 'A Cantebury Tale', which has given me an excuse to watch what I'd consider Second-Tier Powell and Pressburger. They have made some of my favorite films of all time, so I've enjoyed digging a bit deeper with this one, '49th Paralell' and 'I Know Where I'm Going!'. I'm going to end my mini-marathon with 'The Thief of Bagdad'-- which I know isn't an Archers production... but it does have Sabu..

This coming month I am traveling for work which sets me up with a week in a hotel right next to a movie theater. I have only seen a handful of movies in the theater the last few years and none since the baby has come. I've already bought Moviepass and hope to get a few nights to actually watch some new releases!
