What? What are you talking about? It's girls and spaghetti. We love girls and spaghetti.

Went to Bill's Blues bar last night. Saw Sammy Fender, who rocked out doing Curtis Mayfield, James Brown and a great version of Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin), then saw a young band called Santa. http://www.myspace.com/santamusic

They were pretty good at what they did - seemed to be influenced by Radiohead (did a nice cover of There, There), and Echo and the Bunnymen, but mainly sounded a bit like Phantom Planet or Starsailor (because of the vocals). Still, I could see them being pretty successful. Especially if the singer loses his beard and the blue Homer Simpson pants.

Radiohead. Malahide castle. June. Brilliant.
I actually consider a lot of movies to be life-changing! I take them to my heart and they melt into my personality.

M83 and School of Seven Bells.

Good, not great. Not even really noteworthy either, but good.

I dug 'em... S7B was ok, though the music is better than the performance.  The last m83 show was seated @ the FU church so the standing/dance party at Starlight Ballroom was a huge improvement.

Gwar last week.  Amazing experience.  Loudest show I've been to.  Great theatrics.  Just ridiculous fun.

Yeasayer - very good show.  Wished they expanded on their songs a bit in their live performances, but they sounded great.

I have always wanted to catch a GWAR show - just once, just to say I've seen them.

You definitely should.  They noted that this is their 24th year together, so expect a big tour next year.  Pretty remarkable that these guys have been dressing up as space monsters for a quarter century.  Be sure to wear ratty old clothes.
