I have always wanted to catch a GWAR show - just once, just to say I've seen them.

Same here.  I bet it's a whole lot of fun.  I want to get eaten up by their monster and live to tell about it.

Saw Nada Surf last Friday at Hailey's in Denton. Delta Spirit was supposed to open (and the real reason I was going to this show) but a band member was arrested somewhere in Oklahoma. Nada Surf played some good, older stuff. Don't know if I'd pay $15 to see them again though.

Saw Coldplay last night and was more than a little impressed.
Chris martin came off as very entertaining, outgoing and not at all the brooding introspective frontman I expected.
As a band I thought their music was much better live - it sounded harder, bigger (the drums were brought to the fore). They exhibited a great sense of showmanship and theater. The lighting was phenomenal - they actually had real people working in the rigging - I haven't seen that in a long time.
A very pleasant surprise for their last show in North America.

Oasis last eve, my final show of the year.

(Marty should not watch these, esp. not in standard definition)

I've seen then put on a better show before - they didn;t seem all that into it - but they sounded decent.  Dig the Lightning is pretty great live.

Saw Antony and the Johnsons tonight and it was absolutely wonderful.  All of the new album (minus a song or two?), a handful of my favorites from I Am A Bird Now, Twilight from the s/t, and a cover of Crazy in Love that gave me shivers.  If you have a chance to catch them on this tour, don't miss out.

cool.  reading your post earlier today made me want to go, but the $30 ticket held me back
But I wish the public could, in the midst of its pleasures, see how blatantly it is being spoon-fed, and ask for slightly better dreams.

Yeah, I was surprised, I don't think the show sold out.  I wish they had played longer but Antony goes off on these nervous rambles that were endearing but sucked up time for a song or two.
