Chi presale started @ 10AM this morn - http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/07004252762F66EC

"itwasthehat" is the presale password if there are any left.  I'm not sure how many are being made available thru this but most of the Academy was listed as "sold out."  Managed to get seats on the main floor of the venue - prolly just shoulda gone to Coachella.

Unfortunately, yes.  And I think their bass player still doesn't wear a shirt.  He really needs to.

BTW Blake, I really dig your avatar.

Going to see Richard Thompson tomorrow night. As much as I want to see Leonard Coen, it is beyond my price range. Besides, you can download the audio from Coen's concert for free on NPR.

Went to M. Ward at a really interesting venue last night. It's an auditorium inside Dallas's main art museum. M. made a comment that he's never played a museum before.

Knowing absolutely nothing about M. Ward before the show, I thought it was awesome. He closed with that Daniel Johnston song that they played over the trailers for The Devil and Daniel Johnston.

Went back home and started looking through his iTunes albums. Every song that iTunes lists as very popular, he played, including two of the Zooey Deschanel songs.

Anyway, very cool performance. Felt very out-of-my-element. But it was cool. Was expecting them to all point at me and scream, "Poser!"

Went to Bob Dylan and Niel Young a couple months back. They both sounded like crap though. Or rather, the arena they played in made them sound like crap. I don't even know what the point of going to a show in a venue like that is. :(
