It's as if they're trying way too hard to be the best band in the world.

Because no other band wants to be the greatest band in the world.
I actually consider a lot of movies to be life-changing! I take them to my heart and they melt into my personality.

Did they do any Zooropa songs?
Nope, they've mostly abandoned the 90's, we got 2 tracks from Achtung each night (One + Until the End of the World / One + Mysterious Ways) and that was it.  Shame cuz its their best period. Night 1 had 4 tracks from Unforgettable Fire thought which was amazing: Title Track, Bad, MLK & In the Name of Love (which I'm 100% tired of).
I didn't expect much from Zooropa, but I thought they might toss in a treat for the Dublin crowd. When I saw them on Pop Mart they did nothing from Zooropa, and 4 from AB (One, Mysterious Ways, Until the End, and Even the Better). That's cool you got those Unforgettable Fire songs you like, I remember really liking Bad back when I was really into U2. Pride puts my feet to sleep when I hear it on the radio, but as overplayed as that song is it was made for stadium shows.

Coldplay is trying to but aren't very good at it so it really comes down to one band though they won't admit it.

That's the only logical answer.

Except for the fact that they're on their way out and no one is willing to take them seriously.  Find another band moron.

Noone over the age of 12, but plenty of people nonetheless.

I like U2 and I would love to see them live but not in this capacity.  Especially since their new album blows.

David Byrne is right.  They're becoming ridiculous with their staging and all of that shit.  Is it really worth all that money to pay for something that bloated?

I'm sure the visuals are great but it's also kind of ridiculous.  It's as if they're trying way too hard to be the best band in the world.  They just don't get it.

David Byrne is wrong, they've not done a full on stadium world tour in over a decade.  You are not buying tickets to a rock sow but a massiv event spectacular and it doesn't fail to disappoint.  I never got to see their Zoo TV / Pop Mart shows from the 90s but the dvd's are just incredible.  Muse is the only other band I've seen that attempts these kind of huge theatrics.  If that's not what yr into thats cool but I'm happy some people are pushing the envelope of the live spectacular.
