I like U2 and I would love to see them live but not in this capacity.  Especially since their new album blows.

David Byrne is right.  They're becoming ridiculous with their staging and all of that shit.  Is it really worth all that money to pay for something that bloated?

I'm sure the visuals are great but it's also kind of ridiculous.  It's as if they're trying way too hard to be the best band in the world.  They just don't get it.

David Byrne is wrong, they've not done a full on stadium world tour in over a decade.  You are not buying tickets to a rock sow but a massiv event spectacular and it doesn't fail to disappoint.  I never got to see their Zoo TV / Pop Mart shows from the 90s but the dvd's are just incredible.  Muse is the only other band I've seen that attempts these kind of huge theatrics.  If that's not what yr into thats cool but I'm happy some people are pushing the envelope of the live spectacular.

I saw the Zoo TV tour and it was incredible...a lot of their songs are over played and beat but in that setting they never fail to uplift (in my opinion of course)...I like U2 because they make no apologies for who and what they are. I don't have that much of their music on my iPod but I would jump at the chance to see them live (like Metallica) because they are masters are putting on huge rock spectaculars (to borrow from keith).

I did. She was awesome.

2 standouts:
Dig a Pony (yes, FLY, she likes The Beatles)
Jimi Hendrix National Anthem intro to Actor Out Of Work.

My ears are still ringing from the excellence.

I really want to see her live.  She played a free show at Millennium Park in Chicago back in June but I couldnt' go.

I wanted to see her, until I found out about this whole Beatles thing. I'll have to give her a talking to at some point in the future.

EDIT: Though Miley likes Lennon and The Beatles, and she gets a pass for kicking so much ass, and since St. Vincent probably kicks as much ass as Miley I'll give her a pass as well. Plus Dylan was kind of friends with The Beatles, and no one is better than him, not even Demi Lovato.

Here's a version of her doing Dig A Pony. She said she had stopped playing it for "a hot minute" but because we were all participating in a "sweat orgy" she broke it out again.

Leonard Chohen is coming around again, I'll be going again.

(JBizz - not sure where he's playing in Chi-town but he's playing an arena in Philly this time - lowest tier tix are only $26.50, hope its in yr budget)

Yes, I was going to make a point of seeing him once I heard that he was coming back around.

Hmm, didn't realize tickets went on sale last Sat.

Maybe I'll drop $587 for the "Diamond VIP Package" which includes 1 ticket in the first 10 rows + Cohen journal, tote bag, fleece blanket, key chain/gift box & program.  Seriously, why would you spend money on all that?

Looks like the lowest tier tix for the Chicago show are $50, which I would be fine paying, but it's at a venue that is a pain in the ass for me to get to, as well as a place I don't care for.

Oh well.
