Saw Phoenix tonight and I couldn't have been more pleased.  I was unfamiliar with Chairlift, but they were a solid opener.  Phoenix played all the songs I wanted to hear and we even got a solo cover of "Playground Love", which was a great surprise.  Great energy the whole show and I recommend catching them live if you have the chance.

Sunny Day Real Estate played one of the best "reunion" shows I've seen.  Great energy, felt like they never took all these years off.

Deer Tick - High Dive - Seattle

Awesome show.  Great energy and fun songs.  Seemed like the band was having a lot of fun.  Some really good covers thrown in.  Encore was my personal fav "Easy" followed by a rousing rendition of "La Bamba."  Definitely check these guys out if they're swinging through your neck of the woods.

Sunny's The Nightman Cometh live - it was awesome:

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia - "The Nightman Cometh" Live @ the Tower Theater 9/18/09

That looks amazing.

The last one I went to was actually a few months back.  It was a couple of bands playing in Brooklyn. The first group was the Luminescent Orchestrii.  Kind of a weird folk/new age type band.  Here is a vid of one of their songs. http://www.twitvid.com/DDE0F

The second one was the Kronos Quartet, which is the orchestra that did the score Requiem for a Dream.  Here they are playing a bit of the score.  It's a crappy video, but the musics there.

Cosmic Panther Land Band

So fun!  Goofy Southern rock played with zeal and verve by a hodge-podge of Seattle bands.  Members are from the Maldives, Moondoggies, Widower, Shim and The Pica Beats.  The musicianship is topnotch and the songs are just tons of fun.  They're recording this week so keep an eye out on the Myspace page.
