I saw Art Brut and We Are Scientists earlier this week.  We Are Scientists were pretty good, but Art Brut was excellent.

I saw The Black Keys, a couple months ago, and I'm going again in November.  They put on a hell of a show.

Oct. 31- Red Hot Chili Pepers- That should be amazing.

Last June, I saw NIN.  Here's the new teaser trailer for their upcoming DVD for 2007:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxAwkrx0QXg

In October, I hope to see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs for the second time.

Heard some great live music in Decatur over Labor Day weekend. Ellis Paul, Tommy Womack (he's fantastic, never even heard of him before then), Marshall Chapman, Tom Kimmel, and my favorite, John Wesley Harding.  Would go out of my way to see Ellis or Tommy again.

I go see the Dresden Dolls whenever they are in town...I have seen them both here (PHX) and in Prague.
Last month I went to Shakira and was pleasantly surprised. An excellent show.

I thought about mentioning this when I saw your post in favorite bands/musicians, but I didn't.  I used to be a caterer for an auditorium and I catered a NIN concert.  I was responsible for the bands dressing rooms. If I remember right the rider asked for a bottle of tequila and a case of Dos Equis.  Trent Reznor had a golden retriever with him.  The bassist was so wasted he came off stage in the middle of the show and passed out.  He eventually got back up and returned to the show.  Trent Reznor also told me to take the left over booze with me, which I did.

I think we should all go to a Clay Aiken concert when he comes to our area and then report back here.  I can't imagine anything more entertaining.
