Caught Shonen Knife on their 30th anniversay tour last weekend. Despite having never listened to any of their post 90s output and there only being 1 original member left in the band, it was a whole lot of fun. Their encore was nothing but Ramones covers.

Canadian reality stars
Trying to think if that's a thing.

Anyway, he's so much fun - this arena show wasn't nearly as spectacular as when I saw him in a theatre (2003, maybe?) but it was still pretty great. Sadly we left early because the wife fell ill, but what are you gonna do, eh?

Kasabian on Tuesday night. Who were ok. Fine. They wish they were Primal Scream or Death in Vegas, though.

Death in Vegas on Thursday night. Who were magnificent, but unfortunately people are spending all their money on Kasabian tickets and so magnificent Death in Vegas gigs end up being a bit flat because their real audience is watching second rate versions of them two nights before. Radio 1 is killing music.

I will repeat a post since it may be better here:

having spent probably 100's of sessions in karaoke bars, I came to recognize quite a lot of the popular Chinese songs (mostly Taiwan and some HK singers) but seldom knew who they were.  So my friends invited me to the Mayday concert last night which I was liked a few of their songs.  Maybe is a 5 member band from Taiwan and put on a great show.  They played 3 hours without a break and another hour of encores, they show went from 815pm to midnight. Given I was never board even though I don't understand any of the songs and only can recognize about 5 or 6 of them, they must put on a great show...

Two of my more favorite songs:

Coming soon, a 2 week music fest in March.. every night get to go to live acts:)  But not FLY;s type of music since a lot of it will have no words...

Going to see Destroyer in Philly on a Sunday night in the month of June:

I've seen Destroyer enough times that I probably wouldn't go again, but I see that Sandro Perri will be his opener so I'll be there.

I have only seen them at Pitchfork Fest, so I'm looking forward to seeing them again. Also, to see if I get a more hostile Bejar, since he was really serene in Chicago. Do you know if Sandro Perri will be a universal opener, or Chicago only? The Philly venue doesn't have the opener listed yet.

I don't know that he's opening in Chicago, but I saw he's opening in Milwaukee so I'm making a hopeful assumption.

First bunch of Pitchfork acts was just announced. Per usual there's a few I want to see which will require me to buy a 3-day pass. I really hope the headliners aren't Feist, Vampire Weekend, and Godspeed because that's weak.

Exciting
Godspeed You! Black Emperor (though probably not the best setting for them)
A$AP Rocky
Kendrick Lamar

Like but not too excited
Tim Hecker (already seen)
The Field
Hot Chip

Shrug
Feist

Blech
Vampire Weekend

Not familiar enough to have an opinion
AraabMUZIK
Liturgy
Grimes
Cloud Nothings
Willis Earl Beal
