Leonard Maltin Game
« on: January 26, 2010, 10:00:36 PM »
For those of you unfamiliar with this game, which is featured prominently on comedian Doug Benson's podcast "I Love Movies", this is a game where you try and guess the title of a movie based on the year of release, possibly a short snippet from Mr. Maltin's review of the film, and a list of the names of the actors appearing in the film.

To start, you'll be given the year of release, the genre, and the number of listed actors. At first, no actors are shown, and you'll have to guess based on what little information you have. Every time you guess a movie incorrectly, a name is revealed from the bottom of the list. The goal is to name the movie in the least names revealed.

I suspect that everyone here will be pretty good at this game, so I don't expect to ever run out of names.

So let's get things started:

Year: 1993
Leonard Maltin Rating: ***
Genre: Action
Names: 12
Review snippet: "Eye-popping photography, white-knuckle stunts, a swift pace, and entertaining characters"

And of course, all the credit in the world should be given to both Leonard Maltin and Doug Benson.

Scoreboard:
Clovis - 1
jbissell - 1

Since no one is guessing...

1st name: Max Perlich
"Time is the speed at which the past decays."

Are you actually using the Maltin book or the app?

Heh.  I used to listen to that podcast all the time, but I got sick of his sign off.   Good game.

I'm going to say Red Heat
