Spaceballs came out the year after Aliens, otherwise that would have been my guess since I don't recognize any of the cast.

Yeah, Spaceballs is indeed a 1987 film, and only grossed $38M compared to the $85M grossed by Aliens. (The film we're looking for here broke $100M.) Maltin, by the way, awards Spaceballs **½: "Likably silly parody of Star Wars (years after the fact) is basically a collection of jokes, both verbal and visual. Enough of them are funny to make for pleasant, if not hilarious, fare. Surprisingly innocuous for Brooks and Co. ... " The cast there includes John Hurt.

Year: 1986
Genre: Science Fiction
Rating: ***½
Names: 14
Snippet: "Sheer novelty of the comic tone excuses some forays into the obvious; it's all in fun."

Cast: Nichelle Nichols, Jane Wyatt, Catherine Hicks, Mark Lenard, Robin Curtis, Robert Ellenstein, John Schuck, Brock Peters

Well there's someone I know! :D

Star Trek 4?

I should've known it by Catherine Hicks, but I haven't been here this weekend much, to look at this thread.

Star Trek 4?

There it is!

I thought Mark Lenard (Spock's dad) would be the giveaway.
