Success rate by Filmspotter (i.e., percentage of voted for nominees that earned nominations):

sdedalus     70.2%

I don't think that's right.  Are you saying 70% of the nominees I voted for got nominated?  Because it's actually closer to 30%.

Hmm ... I might have the numbers backwards .... I'll double check.

I did think you and Still Walking seemed too high, lol.

Thing I'm happy about:  24 City for Best Documentary.  Although now I guess I have to see those three I've intentionally been avoiding (because I know I won't like them) in order for my vote to have any value.

Thing I'm not happy about: Foreign films almost completely shut out of every major category.  Nothing in picture, director or screenwriting, and only five out of 25 acting nominations.

Another thing I'm happy about: Bright Star for cinematography!

Perfect ballots by category:

Best Director: ses593 and ferris
Visual Effects: jbissell

Damn, I thought there'd be more.

Near-perfect ballots in categories where that was unique:

Actress: BlueVoid
Cinematography: pixote
Documentary: tjwells and ses593
Non-English Language Film: jbissell
Comedic Scene: Melvil
Dramatic Scene: Pink and Emiliana
Score: 'Noke and Junior
Shot: duder
Soundtrack: Wilson and ses593
Supporting Actress: Junior

For Best Surprise, nobody had more than three of their picks get nominated.

It's all your fault for being busy the one week 35 Shots of Rum screened.  :P

(Or my fault for not loving it.)

35 Shots at 6th for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Cinematography. Man, so close. It doesn't feel right.

Yes, pix, it's your fault :(

Pretty sure it's the fault of everyone who didn't vote for A Christmas Tale. . . .
