For a guy that loves visuals as much as I do, I don't want to vote for any of the Best Shot nominees. They're all good, but not 'Best of the Year' in my mind. Anyone else disappointed like I am?

I'm not sure. The A Serious Man Nominee was my number one on the ballot and I really like the Raised Paws shot, but other then that they're quite lacklustre. I was more disappointed with the Comedic scenes nominees though.
I actually consider a lot of movies to be life-changing! I take them to my heart and they melt into my personality.

I feel like for both categories, people just got too connected with their favorites films and simply voted for their favorite shot/scene from their favorite films. It's not an awful thing, but it's not ideal for the category either.

If it makes you feel better I voted for the best film is each category. Turns out that, for the most part, the best film also happens to be my favorite.

You know, I just realized I forgot to vouch for a potential soundtrack nomination that I would have gladly fought for: Nine.

pixote, were there many (or any) nominations for it in the preliminary ballots you received?
-Le Chiffre: You changed your shirt, Mr Bond. I hope our little game isn't causing you to perspire.

-James Bond: A little. But I won't consider myself to be in trouble until I start weeping blood.

The Kate Hudson song automatically disqualifies it from any consideration.

That's one of the best ones in the film! How could you...

Nine received:

- three votes for Soundtrack
- one vote for Daniel Day-Lewis
- three votes for Marion Cotillard
- one vote for Adapted Screenplay
- one vote for Art Direction-
- one vote for Ensemble Cast

Five of those were on one ballot; four on another ballot; and the remaining two split between two more ballots.

Essentially, one extra vote from me wouldn't have changed the dynamic much. Fair enough. Thank for the reply.
