I liked them both, but I especially appreciated the Joan of Arc one, of course.

Yes, your command was the inspiration.

Ever think about having a writing group here?  We've got some marvelous writers, and I'd feel safer to share stuff with some of the folks here than most people I know.  Perhaps there's safety in the semi-anonymity.  It could be anything, not necessarily movie or non-movie related.  What do folks think?  Or is there something already and I didn't know?

I really want to do this now. anybody else?
I actually consider a lot of movies to be life-changing! I take them to my heart and they melt into my personality.

I'd be in if it weren't an extreme commitment (not that it would be).

There is something like this. A girl in my writers group used it for her stories, but I never got the name of it. Let me do a little research and post the link.

Edit:

Haven't checked it out, but my friend likes it.

Part of the good thing about us doing it, is that we already know we won't trash each others' stuff.  I'm a bit nervous about showing my writing to complete strangers.  But I really appreciate this group.  Do we want to begin a thread this way?  Short writing can go on the thread, and longer writing-- not TOO long-- could be blogged and linked.

FLY, you interested?

Yeah sure, though as I attempt to start up Poem a Day again in the summer, I will likely link my posts anyway.

I'd be willing to be a part of this. I haven't seriously tried to write anything in a few years, but I have the itch to give it a go once again.

-James Bond: A little. But I won't consider myself to be in trouble until I start weeping blood.

Ferocactus wislizeni

Follow me through my needles, beyond the drained brown exterior,
Under the falling leaves of my premature buds – through my soil
Toward the plastic bottom shielded from the hanging sun.
Seated on a sill I wither one day at a time.
Thousands of miles to the west traces of ancestry still exist
Where winds outweigh the rains,
Where days burn and nights turn frigid as these new winters,
Where I was not possessed and displayed, forgotten,
Sustained barely by weeks old waters.
Before I was packed in tightly to this plastic pot,
Flown across the country and placed by the window,
Before I was nameless, labeled only as exotic,
Before transportation,
Before transplantation,
Before the harvest.

That's one of the portions (one of the 5 portions!) of my Lit 499 final. We had an option to either design a course or write something creatively that applies to the class. I took the creative writing thing. The class deals with Eco-Criticism and general environmental relationships in literature.

I've got a discussion page for a writer's club posted under "books".  If we get enough interest we might convince a moderator to make it a child board.

Please read over my suggestions, and make any comments if you're interested.
