All I'm gonna say is that while the flying stone head is wicked awesome, my worst fears were realized.  Really, really, really bad...

This film did, however, find a way for Boorman to incorporate his childhood obsession with The Wizard of Oz, something he is pursuing to this day...

Grade D-

But were you not extremely entertained? If by nothing else, than at least by the 1970's conception of what "mind control" might look like (i.e. a bunch of people in robes holding their arms out, waving their fingers, and humming)?

P.S. The penis is evil.

I think I needed to have watched it in a group setting where people would have been goading me into laughing.

Have you read I am Legend Sam?
Nope. I'm really picky about sci-fi literature.
check it out, it's really brilliant and not really sci-fi literature, plus even if you happen to hate it it's a short read.
I actually consider a lot of movies to be life-changing! I take them to my heart and they melt into my personality.

When I first read it I found it disappointing.  But the story, character and finale have stuck with me for years.

14.

DEFCON-4
1985
Dir. Paul Donovan, Tony Randel

I'm not going to expend much effort on this.  I watched it last night, it was atrocious.

Three astronauts survive World War III aboard a space station/satellite they were stationed on to fire Nucs from orbit in just such an emergency.  After some ridiculous dialog and even more ridiculous acting they crash land on earth to find it ravaged by the nuclear war they witnessed from space.  This new Post-Apocalyptic world is full of evil and as they cross the irradiated land they encounter a lot of lameness.

The best I can say about this film is that the model work of the space station at the film's opening is rather well achieved.

Oh, for our many Canadian friends, this is a Canadian production.  So its got that going for it...

Grade F

A must skip.

I am very excited to hear his take on Miracle Mile - I really liked, and my friend who recommended it really liked it, and I don't know anyone else who's seen it.

Canadian Film. Grade F. Par for the coarse.
