Movie Memorabilia
« on: March 22, 2010, 12:56:02 PM »
So what are some of your favorite pieces of cinematic collectibles you guys have stashed?  Autographs, rare/original posters, props (original or replica), etc?  Let's see 'em!

I have the screenplays of Trust and Simple Men signed by Hal Hartly, Adrienne Shelley, and Bill Sage.

I also have a Star Wars widescreen THX VHS Box set signed by Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, and Jeremy Bulloch.

I wanted to post pics, but I left my camera at my mate's.

I love acquiring really, really random stuff like:

A Clock Tower flier from BTTF (not original)

A Top Gun program for the 70mm presentation, still containing the insert explaining the new 70mm surround sound mix technology Top Gun was presented in.  70mm screenings were often accompanied by programs that featured the Credits, as they were often left off the end of the film.  The 70mm print of Apocalypse Now actually uses the lack of credits to incredible effect, letting the film end on "The Horror", echoing out then the rest of the reel is just the sound of rain for the audience to exit to.  SO COOL!  SO DARK!

City of God  press kit from Cannes.

Gangs of New York Screening and Party Invitation for Cannes, unused.

I've got a bunch of Autographs, three from Bruce Campbell including one on my Book of the Dead DVD and another on an Evil Dead Poster (scrawled across the chainsaw blade!)

An original Pride & Prejudice British Quad poster signed by Keira, Carey Mulligan, and the film's Still Photographer who took the photos used in the poster.

Tons of other random stuff scattered around my house and basement including some replica props.

Some projection stuff including a 70mm reel (I plan on turning it into an end table someday), tons of plastic shipping reels for 35mm, other stuff.

I love acquiring this stuff.  I'm running out of room to store it all.  And I'm definitely out of space to display it all, including my poster collection.  I'm thinking of selling off most of my poster collect.  I just don't have the space or room for it all.
