I don't really feel qualified to vote in this category, but here goes:

Wed Anderson
Danny Boyle
Fernando Eimbcke
Peter Jackson
Hirokazu Koreeda
Ken Loach
Michael Moore
Andrew Stanton
Quentin Tarantino
Gus Van Sant

I'm disappointend that the combination of Nobody Knows and Still Walking wasn't enough to earn Koreeda a mention in this thread before now.

You know what? I completely forgot about Koreeda.  :-[ (and now I feel bad about Loach, too)

i think Chris Nolan will have the most films on the top 50, i see him getting:

Memento #18
The Dark Knight #36
The Prestige #49

Haneke, Park the only other directors who could get 3, obviously he is my choice, just rewatch Batman Begins, i did last week, great.

In a perfect world this wouldn't be the case, but since I am in the minority in my extreme Nolan dislike, I was actually laughing out loud at how bad the Inception trailer looked when I saw it for the first time last night, I wouldn't be surprised if you are correct. Either way, I don't care as I'm pretty sure most of mine will make the list, especially Park.

Ken Loach
Two of his films made my top 50, but I couldn't justify putting him on my director's list 'cause they're the only two I saw.

There were a couple of directors I felt the same way about. I think the director who surprised me the most was Adam McKay, I never even considered him but then when looking over his '00's output I was amazed at how much I genuinely loved every film he directed and he became an easy inclusion for me.

Michael Haneke
Brad Bird
Quentin Tarantino
Joon-ho Bong
Pedro Almodóvar
Kar-Wai Wong
Hsiao-Hsien Hou
Alejandro González Iñárritu
Coen Brothers
Gus Van Sant

My submitted list. Ramin Bahrani is somehow missing, silly mistake.
