How in the hell has nobody mentioned Scott Pilgrim yet?

Check out the first bit of this video before it diverges from what's in the actual movie:
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: Black Sheep - FULL music video

That is just crazy good editing and the film is chock full of that sort of thing.

I know that the box office failure of the film will mean that it often gets ignored at the end of the year, but this really deserves an Oscar nomination for Editing. It's between Scott Pilgrim, 127 Hours and Inception for me in the editing race.

It is, in fact, Scotty P, quite easily.

I don't think I would say "easily". 127 Hours puts up a good fight because it actually uses some extremely similar techniques that are no less difficult in construction and application. The editing, even more than the cinematography, is the heartbeat of that movie.

And Inception is a case where within scenes the editing is not all that special, but taken as a whole it is highly impressive. The film is constructed within layers of simultaneously occurring events that are moving at different speeds, and the editing of the film keeps it together extremely well. A lot of people forget that editing isn't just quickly cutting between shots. It's also the cutting between scenes. The timing of when to show what. Inception has a great handle on this. It's a credit to the editor on Inception that my mom was able to watch the movie and never turn to ask me where the characters were at any given point.

two best shot films of the year for me, Inception (Pfister) & Shutter Island (Richardson) interestingly r more weakly edited in my eyes.

Best Editing:

The Social Network (maybe little over-edited for Fincher film)
I Am Love (good rhythm i though)
Scott Pilgrim (also comic-editing, definitely comic-book esce editing)

would it be right it assume that 127 Hours has great editing, (trailer is very well cut)
