I always admire when a film's budget isn't even a question. Give an audience what they want and don't be cynical about it. I don't know how much Furious 7 cost, but with an opening take of $384 million Worldwide, I have to think this is a film where everyone earned and deserved their large paychecks, from the writing and directing, through the cast and stunt team and down through the marketing. Congratulations all around.

BTW, I haven't seen the film yet but considering the hype of the team going against Jason "Transporter" Statham, it's interesting that he hasn't been mentioned on much of the advertising.

I wonder if his name has become someone synonymous with lower grade films, and that it would actually do more harm than good to advertise his presence.

He does a good job of being an unrepentant baddie, which is fun to watch, but he also isn't a huge part of the movie, honestly. It's kind of the crew vs. stunts.

Furious 7 has become the first movie not directed by James Cameron to make over a Billion Dollars Overseas. Worldwide it has passed Frozen and is $20 million behind Deathly Hallows Part 2.

I'll count my blessings that I forgot 50 Shades and Home wasn't released here yet, so let's say that doesn't count. Completely forgot about Cinderella though. Maybe because I couldn't manage to see it.

I'm thinking Fifty Shades around the 7th spot, and Pitch Perfect 2 at 9 or 10.
