Despite your misgivings for Shadow of a Doubt, this is a nice double feature to end the marathon with. I get the feeling that Algiers has a strong shot at being your top film for the month.

Well, Borzage says otherwise. Still, it's the best of the IMDb films I saw this month.

Boo, it's such an average film.  :(

A quick correction:

Quote
New addition to IMDb top 250 I want to see-Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter… and Spring

Because this list was egregiously lacking in non-Kurosawa Orient cinema. In fact, I think this film is the only non-Kurosawa Orient film on the entire list.

Oldboy
Spirited Away
Princess Mononoke
Grave of the Fireflies
My Neighbor Totoro
Infernal Affairs
In the Mood for Love
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind

Mostly Ghibli stuff, but still.

True...not sure how I looked over those.

Infernal Affairs wasn't on there when I started the marathon, though.

The Marathon Postmortem

Since I did this marathon, a good number of films have been added and six of those are 2010 films. Six! It’s not even been a year since 2010 and already IMDb users have hailed six 2010 films as some of the greatest films of all time
At first I completely agreed with you. Then I remembered Social Network (IMDB #185) and Toy Story 3 (#32) are both in my Top 100, and Inception (#8, which I agree is way, wayyy to high) would make my 250. By contrast, nothing I saw in 2009 would make my Top 200.

2009 had Inglourious Basterds, Up, A Serious Man, The White Ribbon. All Top 250 for me.

Yea, I figure Social Network and Toy Story 3 are well regarded enough that I expected them. Inception made so much money that I'm not surprised it's that high.

Still, How To Train Your Dragon and The King's Speech? Really? And Black Swan has no business being on that list.

I wouldn't mind a film or two, but having six 2010 films that high is the kicker for me. We've almost 100 years of cinema and to just have six new films pop in like that is ridiculous, although it use to be ten.

2009 had Inglourious Basterds, Up, A Serious Man, The White Ribbon. All Top 250 for me.
That's because you spend too much time watching new stuff.  :P
