I guess this low tech world is gone and it made movie a bit more interesting.  Now, it must be really tough to write a decent thriller because you're film will be dated before it is even screened to an audience.

Have you seen WarGames?  I got sucked into watching it the other night and despite the dated technology (oh my how it is dated!) the movie was still pretty great.  Maybe a lot of that was nostalgia (I saw it theatrically and several more times when I was a kid), but I think it's just a good movie.

Has anyone seen The Net lately? I bet it's hilarious.

I saw some of it fairly recently. The technological parts of it were hilarious. Crime with a floppy disk!

It was laughable at the time of release.

No, it's a really good movie. I watched it for the first time a couple of weeks and it was good stuff.

Meh. Yeah, I didn't mean to say it wasn't, but I was 12 at the time, so I'm disinclined to trust my own reaction.

2. Strange Days

D'oh, that should certainly be on my underrated list.

Seems like I've seen all the good ones.

I've seen Wargames and it was pretty good from what I remember.

It was more of a noir decade than a thriller decade, I think.

8 Underrated 90s Thrillers:

1. New Rose Hotel
2. Bound
3. Red Rock West/The Last Seduction
4. Shallow Grave
5. Existenz
6. Ronin

still need to check New Rose Hotel...

Total Recall, The Fifth Element, Freejack, Johnny Mnemonic, The Thirteenth Floor & The Lawnmower Man all work as techno/cyperpunk style thrillers along with several others mentioned so far.

Nice lists Sean and Schmer!  I've missed a number of those.  Red Rock West is a big fave with my roommates, I think the DVD shelf in the living room has three copies on it.  But I still haven't seen it.

Last Seduction was shown in my undergrad Noir Class.  I wasn't crazy about it, but I really like the look of it.  I should go back and revisit it.

I lost my Criterion The Vanishing when my apartment was robbed.  That was a sad day.
