I didn't love The Talented Mr. Ripley, but it's popular in some circles.  Same with A Simple Plan and Arlington Road.  Surprised The Sixth Sense hasn't been mentioned yet, though Thriller is sort of a murky category.

Carlito's Way, Donnie Brasco, and Enemy of the State might make my list, but the first two probably aren't really thrillers, per se.

I've always wanted to see One False Move.

The Vanishing

I assume you're writing about Sluizer's remake. Love to know your thoughts about why you've included it.

The Vanishing

Yes, the remake.  While the remake is not close to being the masterpiece that the original is, I think the change in tone is interesting.  Perhaps only interesting if one has seen the original.  Without that angle, relative to other films that have been mentioned, I think it should be brought up.  The ending doesn't bother me as much as it does a lot of people.  I also think Bridges is great in it.

I've always wanted to see One False Move.

It's a pretty great modest film, but I don't even consider it a slow burn thriller.  Then again, I agree that thriller is a sort of murky category.

I didn't care for the Vanishing Remake.  Its pretty bad, IMO.

I'm certainly not going to argue with any of those. I think the back half of the Mission: Impossible series is much better than the first two, but the first one is pretty solid. Crimson Tide is just a great time at the movies, The Game is proof that even early Fincher is better than most other people in the genre, Jurassic Park is a bonafide classic, and Scream is right up there, too. I might only swap out Silence of the Lambs for M:I. Oh, maybe L.A. Confidential, too. These can top 6 lists, right?

Kinda ironic that the M:I franchise got me into it because of thriller elements in the first movie that slowly dissipated over the franchise's growth (becoming more straight-up action movies). I heard that "Rogue Nation" supposedly return to its roots of 'suspense' so... maybe that will be my final attempt at liking this series before I turn away from it completely.
