The screenshot for Ray Winstone's supporting performance in The Proposition is of Guy Pearce.

And the majority says DiCaprio's turn in The Departed is supporting?  He's the co-lead, mos def.  Super happy to see Kelly Macdonald and Casey Affleck on the Winners list.

Best Cinematography
Bright Star
Zodiac

Yes!

Best Foreign Language Film

Very sad that a Claire Denis didn't place in this category.  She is one of the most cinematic and adventurous filmmakers alive.  And I hope that by the time all of you are old and crusty, you'll have explored her filmography and realize that a survey of 2000-2009 isn't comprehensive as it ideally should be without at least one film of hers.

Tier 2 (33 Films)

I did even worse here than I did with the Top 20: 2/33.   :'(

Fixed the Proposition picture. As to DiCaprio, I'm pretty sure he was on my Lead ballot but our rule was which ever category had the most votes would be the one we went with...so yeah, I guess the majority didn't know what they were talking about :P they just knew they liked it.

Best Film

Tier 1 (20 Films)
Before Sunset
Children of Men
The Departed
Inglourious Basterds
Memento
Once
Shaun of the Dead
Spirited Away

Tier 2 (33 Films)
In Bruges
Into The Wild
Let The Right One In
The Prestige
United 93

8/20 on Tier 1
5/33 on Tier 2

Out of these, 5 of my top 10 made the list, 3 in the top 20.

Also, 2/20 in Tier 1 got negative votes from me, 3/33 in Tier 2.

Of the films to win something in any category (not counting Directors), I haven't seen (and thus will soon see):
Crazy Heart
Flight of the Red Balloon
Morvern Callar
Spellbound
Touching The Void
Vera Drake

The DiCaprio screenshot isn't from The Departed, right?  It's from Body of Lies?  Also, the quote isn't his character's.

Very interesting that Soderbergh was a best director without getting a film in the top 53.

It is a little surprising. Maybe folks weren't happy with how he finished off the year?

Informant! and Che were both pretty lousy imo. I think I still voted for him though on the strength of the Ocean movies, Traffic and Brockovich.

Perhaps not having any films in the top 53 is why he didn't get Best Director (he finished just two votes out). I think I voted for him on the strength of The Girlfriend Experience, Bubble, and Oceans.
