Almost Famous is one film I really wanted to see before the deadline, but didn't get the chance.

Are you guys planning to reveal the overall #1 at any point?

Nope. Everything is completely random, there is no ranking.
I actually consider a lot of movies to be life-changing! I take them to my heart and they melt into my personality.

Yep.  All 20 are tied for first.  That's our story and we're sticking to it!

I really liked Almost Famous when I watched it in one of my previous marathons, it just hasn't stuck enough in my memory to consider it a favorite. When I get around to rewatching (hopefully the Untitled cut) maybe that will change.

Don't hold me accountable to things I said back in 2007  :)
You were so sweet and earnest, what happened to you?

However, I am really not quite sure what to say about Almost Famous. I watched it back when it came out, and liked it well enough, but since then, I have forgotten most of it and filed it away under "that film Adam loves so much"... However, roujin's quote gave me serious pause (even more so than the fact that it made this list, I guess), so I am thinking a rewatch is in order.
My feelings exactly.
And mine.
Yeah, it's a film that I like but have never been over the moon for. I re-watched it last year and my opinion didn't change; I wish I was part of the devoted following, but I ain't. But there's no questioning PSH's awesomeness in it.

I didn't think anything substantial was added to the bootleg cut.
I agree, I thought it made parts of it kind of awkward.

Shaun of the Dead
(Edgar Wright, 2004)

The bottom line is Shaun of the Dead is funny in almost every possible way there is to be funny.

I love the dialogue.  How many of the jokes just land, even on repeat viewings.  I love the camerawork that's brash without being overbearing.  (The steadicam shot after zombie infestation and the way it reflects on an earlier matching shot is among my absolute favorite of the decade.)  I love the buddy dynamic between Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, and I love just how rich and touching their friendship is written and played.  The film would simply not have worked so well without such deep conviction.

Still just as awesome as it was the first time 'round. Love it.

I cannot get enough of this picture. My life IS a zombie movie.

Shaun of the Dead is the best.

First from my ballot to make it. Another one I haven't seen since the first viewing though, which needs to change. Stupid limits on time and resources that make me have to prioritize all these things.

I haven't seen it, but everyone I talk to says I need to.  Might be time to lift my lifetime bam on zombie movies.
