Another gimme. After I finished watching There Will Be Blood, I immediately knew it was a "great movie". The ambition and execution are both there. PT Anderson comes from a very different perspective than I do, so it's far from a personal favorite, but even I can appreciate the film.

Outside of being visually impressive I didn't get a lot of out this one.

It sure ain't no No Country for Old Men.

Nah, TWBB is great. It wouldn't make my top 20, but it's pretty friggin great.

I actually consider a lot of movies to be life-changing! I take them to my heart and they melt into my personality.

It's one of the few geniune epics of this young century.  Kids being born today will be taught as adults to look back at this film like our generation looks at The Godfather

No, this generation's The Money Pit also needs to have four syllables and end on a consonant. Relatively short, yet still rhythmic and ending on a definitely strong point. That way it sounds that much more direct, absolute and ridiculous.

I saw There Will Be Blood in theaters twice, I think. Maybe three times. In two and a half, almost three years, I have chased the feeling that I had after watching this conclude. Whether in or out of a theater. I sat in awe of what I had witnessed. I became a sea of excitement, a river of admiration, a pond of useless metaphors. No other film has ever left me feeling the way There Will Be Blood has, not even Dr. Strangelove, and I fear that continuing to hope to ever experience that feeling again is basically a futile endeavor.

Same here. It is great enough to transcend my biases against the genre.
