9 of 16 as well.

So happy to see The Lives of Others make it.  It's absolutely one of my all-time favorites, and incredibly moving.  One of those movies that I force upon people - especially people who "don't want to read subtitles."

6/16

Still prefer The Class from that year's Oscar nominees but it is a good film. I still think I'm only at two films on the list I dislike (the two I gave negative votes to natch).

The Class was 2008, The Lives of Others was 2006.

14/16. Made my top 75, but not my top 50. Still a movie I love though.
I actually consider a lot of movies to be life-changing! I take them to my heart and they melt into my personality.

11/16, seen all of them and like all of them. We need more contentious movies in the top 20.

my hope was this list would establish a "cannon" of sorts.  The list so far seems to be just that.   We'll see what the final four have in store!

Lives of Others is a given the some of the more light films on this list, as long as Pan's Labyrinth makes the list as well it won't feel like an oscar snub here on the filmspot forums, Children of Men definitely great choice my #19, wouldn't be surprised if we have one of the four big year 2000 foreign films: Ameros Perros, Crouching Tiger, Yi Yi, In the Mood for Love.

4/16, The Lives Of Others is a fine film, but it didn't make my list.
