Poem 226, by Tim Key

Dick Lolly swapped his car for some bread
he imagined the old lady laughing her bloody head off
"and in my car!", was his thought.

"It was a bad car", he kept telling himself, "and this is good bread!"
but still even a bad car is worth more than good bread.
"I've done it again!", was his main thought.
"What should have been an enjoyable 90 minutes of nubile, high-school flesh meeting a frenzy of blood-caked blades, becomes instead an exploitational and complex parable of the conflicting demands of agrarianism and artistry. I voted a miss."

Thank you to Stevekimes for getting me on this peotry kick. A consolidation of my haiku

My first haiku
Winter Computer
A cold hand types at keyboard
Text flows upon ground

The seasons change
Not Equinox or Solstice
But at months start

I'm burning Bridges
Winter work bridges are gone
Ashes of my job

Now that is whoring
Yes you Steven O. Selsnik
But that is o.k.

The lists are falling
The posts are slowing down now
Words lie down around

Jarred peanuts sit
Bagged onions are crying
Bench need clean

Mother's blood tears
Retribution flows clear
Deeply running pain

Dishes piled high
Cooking smells wonderful
Stomach awaits food

Employment it comes
Winter is here, they join up
Days are filled up

The assassins come
In the dark of nights shadow
Tears flow mourning

On a wet fall day
I go far to dig a trench
Mud will be my friend

Days of autumn mud
My arms ache from toiling
Enjoy it I did

Winter has come again
Spring bulbs have sprouted
Crazy is plant world

Heat from the quotes
Thread bubbles avatars melt
Sweat drips on post

Not haiku

I see through the window
The Window sees me
It is dark
I see me now

A Computer
A Hand
A Keyboard
I Type

Cooking smells
Through the house
Hunger rises
Dog spins around

The bowl waits
The Cereal waits
The Spoon waits
My Hunger calls

Winter rains fall
Paper blinds dissolve
Exposed again

Jeff's birthday celebration
Not a bad evening

Grows slow and wet
Mower hates it

I NEVER saw a moor,
I never saw the sea;
Yet know I how the heather looks,
And what a wave must be.
I never spoke with God,
Nor visited in heaven;
Yet certain am I of the spot
As if the chart were given.
