So sad to read. I lost mine around Christmas too, so I know that particular sting. I also understand the need to wait a few months even though you know there's a new joy in your future. Now belongs to happy thoughts of you and Misty.

Sorry for your loss, Monty. It’s hard, we put down our 17 year old dog a couple of weeks ago and it is not an easy thing to have done even when you know it is for the best.

Here’s hoping Misty is resting comfortably in the Heaviside Layer until she is reborn (Spoilers? from Cats)

Thank you everybody for you nice words. They are very much appreciated.

Martin, we said at the time how similar Misty and Madeleine looked, I Hope she is well.

Bondo, I haven't seen 'Cats', I'm not sure I want to, I'd probably end up a blubbering mess.
I'm guessing the sentiment is the same as 'Rainbow Bridge', which I've been thinking about, in the past few days.

Rainbow Bridge definitely is more sentimental. Cats doesn’t contemplate the relationship between cats and humans in any real sense. But all the same, yes, I think it could be a bit much at present.

We learned recently that Madeleine's teeth are a disaster. She's undergoing (very expensive) surgery to get them all removed at the end of the month. I'm a bit stressed about it. She is very difficult to catch and medicate, so we'll have to keep her shut up in a room during her recovery time. But hopefully she'll feel better afterwards.

I'm sorry to hear that Martin, hoping that Madeleine makes a speedy recovery.

Thank you Sandy  :)

Catching up a bit here...

RIP Misty.. sorry for your loss, Monty.

Just returned from a week in Niseko, Japan skiing with friends

The first 2 days were very icy and slick due to some rain:

Mid half way through the second day, it started to snow and really never stopped for the next 5 days.. lots of powder in the end

And always great food...

Planning to do again next year, maybe the last week of December, over xmas.

I guess everyone was wowed into silence with your pics, jdc. And, everyone knew there was nothing that could follow without it being a bit anticlimactic. :)

So, I'll follow it with a dog's haircut. Nothing too ambitious about that.
