I'm going to need a few days to figure out if I should feel complimented or insulted.
It's a description of quality that has no positive or negative intent. It's a simile, like, "You look like an apple."
Some guy said I looked like the V-Ger-looking contestant on the last American Idol. I was insulted, but he meant it as a compliment. Then a woman who overheard said that someone said that she looked like Hillary Clinton, and she didn't know how to take it. She didn't. But if she did, it would have been an improvement.
