I need to see it again, but I found it amusing. The rant about the whole soviet water paranoia was hilarious in my opinion.

I loved it, hilarious, biting, one of the best movies of all time.

I love ya Noff, but some of your ratings, they hurt, oh, they hurt.

Curious about: The Frighteners

Your taste in Kukrick is pretty much the reverse of mine. The realisation, of the opposite taste, is weird to see, I mean I know there will be people out there with the flip-side of my taste in a director, but to actually see it realised, well that is something else.
As I enjoy Jackson's early films I have to suggest seeing Bad Taste, Meet the Feebles and Braindead, but they are definitely not to everyone's taste.

Forgotten Silver is also an underated film by Peter Jackson, a great faux-doc.

I should probably add that the star rating reflects my level of enjoyment more than it does the quality of the filmmaking. Particularly in the 1 and 2 star range where I'm loath to admit there was anything positive going on. ;)

In any case, I look forward to seeing you lists later. :)

Forgotten Silver I might consider. The others... yeah probably not my thing.

edit: also, thanks to roujin from his last years list for giving me the idea of using the text stars. Pretty clever.

Hope to catch up with[/i]: Nuts In May, The Kiss of Death, Abigail’s Party, Who’s Who, Home Sweet Home, Grown-Ups, Bleak Moments, Meantime, Hard Labour

I like this crop better than latter Leigh which I think is very good.

No kiddin? Awesome! I can't wait to check 'em out. What is it about this older stuff that you prefer?

Deals more with class structure which is not to say it's absent in his latter period.  Also, funnier, to me at least.

Yes I am going to have to put some time in to get a list together, not sure Kubrick will make mine, his misses count heavily against him. I agree that seeing the technical skill does not necessarily help you like the films.
