You must see Raise the Red Lantern. Also, The Game is a really good Fincher film.

Dr. Strangelove (1964) ★

This surprised me.
I actually consider a lot of movies to be life-changing! I take them to my heart and they melt into my personality.

Dr. Strangelove (1964) ★

This surprised me.

Dunno what it was... maybe bad viewing conditions (2 buddies, too many beers?). Nothing seemed to work for me. No laughs, no chuckles, no nothing. We got restless after half an hour and shut her off. In time I'm sure I'll have a chance to revisit it.

If there was ever a worse way to view Kubrick....

I've seen it 3 times.  Even discussed it in Film Class.  Except for a handful of lines, I don't find it funny.  George C. Scott is good.  Sellers is okay, though I don't understand the Strangelove character at all.  Strikes me as desperately unfunny.  But Sterling Hayden is the big wet blanket over the entire enterprise.

I need to see it again, but I found it amusing. The rant about the whole soviet water paranoia was hilarious in my opinion.
