Here's my list.
EDIT: I just saw the other thread, where I am supposed to post this list. I'll nip on over there and post it then, shall I?
I basically asked myself, "If I knew this director was in charge of a film, how likely am I to watch it, just based on that?" Thus, Woody Allen and Alfred Hitchcock-- excellent directors, both-- won't make my list. I'm neither more or less likely to watch a film on their names alone. These are the only directors I can think of that would get me watching their film simply based on their name and what I've already seen of their films. It also means they have a distinctive style that I recognize and appreciate.
