Well what do you want me to do?!!?!? Watch movies or post on here?

Also, your face is disappointing.

I want you to do both.

Well, you can forget about it. The good news is that I own at least some of these on DVD/Blu including TGTBATU, The Lives of Others, 8 1/2, OUATITW and Dr. Strangelove. The bad news is that I've owned most of those for over a year.

Junior you're supposed to watch films so you can come to the boards and talk about them.

I bet you could watch 38 movies in one year.

Looking at 101-200, there's a few I haven't seen:

All About My Mother
In America
Naussica
Grave of the Fireflies
Ratcatcher
Requiem for a Dream

FIX THIS ASAP.

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't like several of those, which is why I haven't watched them.  The Almodovar and the two animes are the only ones I'm interested in, to varying degrees.

38, yes. But those 38, likely not.

Junior, I got your back on this (not sure if you want or need me there, but there it is).

I think it is perfectly legitimate to only watch the films that you are genuinely interested in. That's precisely what I did with the top 100s from 2008 and 2009 - I made an effort to watch the films that had interested me anyway, but at no point did I have the intention to watch the complete list. I have caught up with a lot of great stuff, so that now, there are only 12 films on this year's list that I haven't seen. Out of those, I'll likely only watch three or four before we do this again, because I simply can't see myself falling in love with the others. I'm not saying they are bad films or that it's impossible that I would enjoy them, but with so many other films out there that I am dying to see, some of these simply don't have much of a chance, no matter how many filmspotters tell me I should see them.

That said, Junior, I really think you would like TGTBATU, OUATITW and Dr. Strangelove. One word: MILKSHAKE!

I think this is getting turned around a little. Of course there isn't any compulsion to be a completist about this list (someone actually implied there was peer pressure involved which obviously made me laugh). However, since coming on the forum if there has been a positive consensus behind a film or director that group buzz has 'generally' been matched by a great movie (M, Aguirre, Red Shoes are good examples). So it is a good guide but CINECAST! it being a rule to follow.
