Filmspotters Top 100 Nominees/Promotion Thread

This seems like it could be useful, pick a movie or two; give a good reason why you think people should consider it/see it before submitting their list and hopefully we'll help each other out in (re)discovering some gems and make this years list the best yet!

I'll get it started:

In A Lonely Place (1950)
Dir: Nicholas Ray

One of the biggest complains about last years list was the lack of movies from before 1980 and this is one of my all time favourites.  It's not too far from the list, having came in in at #151 last year and hopefully with a bit of a push, plus some votes from the people who've seen it for the first time this year (myself included!) it can break the big list.

It features a great love story, probably Bogie's best performance, fantastic dialogue and wonderful chemistry between the leads.  Not to mention the great direction, and utterly brilliant ending.

So, see it and put it on your list!

(also, Out of the Past if you want some extra credit)

Great idea! I really, really need to see In A Lonely Place.

I'll get to work on some of my favourites soon, but for now I'll just leave you with this
I actually consider a lot of movies to be life-changing! I take them to my heart and they melt into my personality.

Well, since I enjoy making lists and pretending that I will watch all the things on those lists, I went through the top 100 of everyone who is currently active on the board and jotted down the top film that they listed that I hadn't seen. 4. 1776

Musicals! Gee, I wonder whose list this was from ;). Of course, my list wasn't ranked so that changes things a bit...but you have CINECAST!ing Amal on your list elsewhere, which may well be the top one on my list, as ranked, that you wouldn't have seen anyway. So prioritize that one.

Hey! If you're gonna rank the movies on your list, why not rank them?  :D

I'm chronically indecisive until the point where I must be decisive. Also see 116 films on my top-100 (now down to 105...of which fewer than 100 will make my top 100 because I'll find other things to include as well). I guess what I'm saying is you can't trust any list I make. :D
