This will sound like a strange little plug, but I would recommend some people watch Nostalgia for the Countryside, a film that has easily climbed its way to the 3rd round of the Far East Bracket.
-Le Chiffre: You changed your shirt, Mr Bond. I hope our little game isn't causing you to perspire.

-James Bond: A little. But I won't consider myself to be in trouble until I start weeping blood.

My #1 movie of all time Woman in the Dunes (with sex scenes!)

I’ve lied to men who wear belts. I’ve lied to men who wear suspenders. But I’d never be so stupid as to lie to a man who wears both a belt and suspenders.

In A Lonely Place (1950)
Dir: Nicholas Ray

One of the biggest complains about last years list was the lack of movies from before 1980 and this is one of my all time favourites.  It's not too far from the list, having came in in at #151 last year and hopefully with a bit of a push, plus some votes from the people who've seen it for the first time this year (myself included!) it can break the big list.

(also, Out of the Past if you want some extra credit)

I'll be one of those new votes. I'm guessing it'll be somewhere in my 30-40 range. Out of the Past will probably just miss my list.

A big one that I know has been seen by some new eyes over the last year, that I really hope has a spot this year is The Last Picture Show.

That's one of the things the movie is about.

This seems like it could be useful, pick a movie or two; give a good reason why you think people should consider it/see it before submitting their list and hopefully we'll help each other out in (re)discovering some gems and make this years list the best yet!

Here are a couple films that didn't get any votes last year as far as I can tell:
In The Heat of the Night
No votes? Really? Sidney Cinecastin' Pontier!

The Woodsman
I could champion a film like Bend It Like Beckham, but I understand I'm largely alone in the world with letting a film of that nature or tone invade my top 100. The Woodsman however, is just such a well crafted, well acted (first degree Kevin Bacon) small drama that provides a wonderful, humanizing look into the world's largest taboo, the child molester. While I hate unlikable protagonists, I am rather fond of movies that give you reason to sympathize with the protagonist against the odds.

Match Point
Well, this is MY favorite Woody Allen film anyway. Such a tense thriller.

Also, Inglorious Basterds and Inception have come out since the list was made last year, so, you know, they should be on people's ballots.

They will definitely be on mine.
