100. Gong Li in Miami Vice (Michael Mann, 2006)
What other performances of hers have you seen? Do you really think this is her best? Really truly?
Oops :D. I've seen her in a bunch of other films and I do think I like her better in Raise the Red Lantern :). But this is the movie on my top 100 and wanted to support the cabal :P.

99. Emma Thompson in The Remains of the Day (James Ivory, 1993)
Hmm, I always thought the film belonged to Hopkins.
I should've had both of them on my list really :-\.

Oh, and I find Lancaster in The Leopard a really odd choice ... just because I remember being really distracted by the dubbing. Or something.

I've seen it in both languages which helps perhaps. I love the performance but could've also voted for his performance in The Swimmer.

Way excited about you watching All that Heaven Allows and Ali: Fear Eats the Soul.

Okay, if it was a choice between The Leopard and The Swimmer, I'm deinitely glad you went with the former. Everything about The Swimmer seemed laughably bad to me.  Or maybe David and Lisa and Last Summer just set the bar too high for the Perrys.

I wanted to put Lancaster's performance in The Train on my list, but I ran out of room.

A Google search for "Lancaster's best performance" brings up a lot of hits for Elmer Gantry, a few for Sweet Smell of Success, The Swimmer, Atlantic City, Seven Days in May, Twilight's Last Gleaming (wha?), From Here to Eternity ... I guess we're both in the minority.

There is so much in Lancaster's eyes and face in that shot. Wow.

Very glad to see that you sent a list in, w@w, and that we have some performances in common.  Great shot choices.
