I'll post reviews of whatever I watch in this category but I have no idea what that'll be.

Also, The Thing From Another World is way more a sci-fi action film than it is a horror one. Carpenter really played up that aspect way more than Hawks did. But you should totally still watch it!

Here's what else I think I'll go for after browsing Netflix Instant (and some stuff I already had in my queue):
Trick 'r Treat
Suspiria
Three...Extremes (2005) (horror shorts from Miike and Chan-Wook Park and another guy...possibly will watch the other set of shorts as well).
A Tale of Two Sisters (Ji-Woon Kim film)
Monkey Shines (because that box used to freak the heck out of me when I'd look at the videos at the grocery store).
Peeping Tom

I read something recently from Ebert where he called it the most terrifying movie he's ever seen.  Guess I'll find out soon.  My wife is really into Black & White horror.  Not a fan of the modern stuff, so we'll do a Black & White biased marathon on Halloween.

And Junior, I hope I can at least count on you for some thoughts on Sharktopus.

That's cool. There are maybe three scenes that were really scary, but maybe I don't scare easy. I definitely want to see more b+w horror (and I have some coming up on TCM) so I'll be interested in reading your thoughts.

From TCM I have Phantom (1922) and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1932). So there's a bit of the old classics to balance out Sharktopus (which was horrible, by the way).

Sam, know that I'm a regular reader of your wordpress.  It's partly why I saw Ink, why I recommended Never Sleep Again, why I suggested a warewolf or zombie marathon and why Das Boot will probably go into my Top 100 marathon.

I try to watch at least 31 horror movies every October. My list of movies that I want to watch is rather large, and I will try to post it later.

For anyone looking for a good resource of where to see some good flicks, check out this thread I started: http://www.filmspotting.net/forum/index.php?topic=8944.0 it has the TCM and Syfy's horror listings for the month,

O yea, I know I have dedicated readers, and I appreciate that, I just know that most tend to not read anything I write on horror films. :P
