The Russell scenes are a bit too obvious for me, but I love everything else about it.

I can see that. He gets dropped in and out of the movie all willy nilly. The scene where Cathy O'Donnell helps him before he goes to sleep is what sold me on the character.

One of the finest dramatic directors with no discernible style.

He's very distinctive from the late 30s through the 40s for his deep focus, depth of field style.  Especially in his collaborations with Gregg Toland.

Dodsworth | Wyler | 1936

Such an incredibly honest and scathing portrayal of a marriage falling apart thanks to a woman's narcissism and desperation to cling to her youth. And yet, even her character is treated with some degree of kindness and humanity especially in the first half. The whole thing is pretty darn perfect really.. the sets, the cinematography and most of all, the three central performances. The only complaint I have really is that there's not nearly enough Mary Astor in it. She's resplendent and I too want to travel around the world with her.

I'll upload it tonight for sure. My upload speeds are pretty rubbish right now with the snowstorm.
