I watched his "best" films The Killer and Hard Boiled and was disappointed.  Awful scripts coupled with boring suspenceless action scenes.  When you show the hero take down sixty men in a single action scene (not an exaggeration) I lose interest.  The motel gun fight between Moss and Chigurh was a hundred times more exciting than the dozens of deaths you see in any Woo action sequence.

I’ve lied to men who wear belts. I’ve lied to men who wear suspenders. But I’d never be so stupid as to lie to a man who wears both a belt and suspenders.

Hard Boiled

People who like The Killer are forgetting how horribly corny and unwatchable it is.  :P

Red Cliff II
-Le Chiffre: You changed your shirt, Mr Bond. I hope our little game isn't causing you to perspire.

-James Bond: A little. But I won't consider myself to be in trouble until I start weeping blood.

True that, I don't get the '80s at all.

John Woo revolutionized the action genre, but his style has really fallen out of favor.  I have a great nostalgia for Woo's ultimate cool.  I fear it won't hold up.

Taking that into consideration...

1. The Killer
2. Hard-Boiled

3. Bullet in the Head
4. Face/Off
5. Once a Thief (1991)
6. A Better Tomorrow Part II
7. Broken Arrow
8. Hostage
9. Windtalkers
10. Heroes Shed no Tears
11. A Better Tomorrow

12. Red Cliff
13. Last Hurrah for Chivalry
14. Hard Target
15. Mission: Impossible II
16. Blackjack
17. Paycheck

Where is Bullet in the Head as a poll option?

Whoops.  Sorry about that, just a mistake.

If I'm being honest, I probably had more fun with Paycheck than I did with Hard-Boiled.
There's no deceit in the cauliflower.
